Born and raised in Preston 1950. St.Ignatious Primary. Blessed Emdund Campion Sec.
Apprentice heating engineer with Mercers and Whitlocks. Became a used car dealer. Moved to Los Angles 1981. Retired at 54 in 2004. Ride motorbikes with my wife Colleen and work on our 1908 house.
My dad was concert secetary at Maudland Labor Club and my mum worked for a promoter (Ticket Booth at Public Hall). I saw every type of act you could possibly imagine, as a teenager I was thrilled to go in the dressing rooms at Public Hall as me mum took me there early. At 13 or 14 I sat in with the Rolling Stones smoking cigarretes and drinking Tizer from the bottle! I joked with Bert Weedon. I even met Josef Locke! I went to every show I could from crooners to rock, musicals to comedy.
I went to any pub in the area that had live music, I wasn't a musician but a patron of the arts! Still am. We go to tons of stuff around here in Claremont, Los Angeles. Ben Harper is from our little music store in town named Folk Music. They have varied shows monthly, it's a real treat.
I tried racing motorbikes for a while but found out I wasn't fast enough! So now we just travel around. Been as far south as Puerto Vallarta Mexico, as far north as Labrador. Just got home from a coast to coast 6000+ miler from Long Beach California to Virginia Beach Virginia and back, both of us on our own BMW's (yes the Mrs has her own).
